a creation born from something created by a creator...
stretching until it is time to contract,
contracting until it is time to stretch.
we breathe in, we breathe out,
seasons begin and transform
life seeds into another life...
I am a huge fan of Sleeping On Lotus Ashes.
I wrote to him:
When will we get to hear a new masterpiece from you?
He wrote back saying he would be into making one using a one minute sample from my instrument.
I offered to make miniature pieces showing off some of the playing techniques of the mosesa.
I decided it could be interesting to make an album showing off three processing techniques.
The first technique is straightforward acoustic processing, reverb, panning, volume checking using Logic Pro 9. This was used for Seven for Ashes-(1-7).
The second technique was time stretching-compression, multi-tracking also using Logic Pro 9. I used “Seven for Ashes-4” to make “dark seeds rattle, Phoenix burning.”
The third technique is granulation decomposition/re-composition by Sleeping on Lotus Ashes. He selected “Seven for Ashes-4” to make his piece, “Regurgitating Pulverized Strings,” was made mainly using Max/MSP, Reaktor and MetaSynth :) (with other few little secret ingredients thrown in.)
